Kawasaki KRX 1000 Primary Clutch Overdrive Modification and Refurbishment

 We can machine your primary clutch for more top end speed and lower RPMs at cruising speeds, From the factory the belt on the  KRX  primary clutch lacks about 1/2" from traveling all the way to the top of the sheaves, this modification allows the belt to use all of the sheave making the primary go into full shift at a higher speed, this increases top speed and lowers cruising RPMs. There is absolutely no loss of low end power with our mod, as a matter of fact you will gain a slight amount of low end gearing at take off due to the machining forcing the belt to ride higher in the secondary lowering the gear ratio at take off, the primary now uses all of the available sheave area for a higher final drive shift out for more top speed and lower cruising RPMs but it jumps right back into the higher RPM power band when you punch it.

Fuel consumption is reduced due to the machines ability to run at a lower RPM. With this "overdrive" modification we are able to run up to 40mph in low range.

We have not fully tested top speed but we are seeing 72 mph on a 2900 lb machine on 35" tires, higher speeds are possible on a lighter or boosted machine. (weight is horsepower) 

 Utilizing our lighter primary spring along with the machining helps lower cruising RPMs with no loss in performance.

New Heavy Duty Circlips, Lighter Clutch Spring, and Chromoly Clutch Cap Self Centering bolts are included with this service.

 We can refurbish most KRX Primaries, we machine out the weight pockets and install low friction poly washers so the weights will not wear into the pockets again, we can machine out the slider towers and replace worn slider buttons, in many cases the towers can be polished if there are not deep grooves, we then shim out and adjust the sliders to the proper tolerance. If the bushings in the outer primary half or the Cap (Pressure Plate) are worn we can replace those, We machine the sheaves smooth to remove small grooves and imperfections.

We offer and install the KWI Clutching kit that includes new weights, rollers, and slider buttons.

Overdrive Mod - $450 - Includes all machining and resurfacing the sheaves, Lighter Primary Spring, Self Centering Chromoly Cap Bolts, and HD Circlips.

Primary Clutch Complete Rebuild - $899 - Includes the KWI Kit with Rollers, Buttons, and Weights, Machining of the Weight Pockets and installing Nylon washers, Machining or polishing the Slider Towers and shimming sliders, and Refacing the Primary Sheaves, Includes new HD Circlips.

 There is a flat return shipping charge of $45 which will include $1000 of insurance in case there is any damage in shipping, we package all return clutches very good to prevent any damage but you never know.
