 Kawasaki KRX Underdrive modification - 20% lower gearing on the bottom while retaining all the benefits of our Overdrive Primary.                               

Our Overdrive Primary and KWI weights are required with this modification.

 

 We are currently running 1-2 weeks turnaround on customer and new modified clutches, turnaround could be faster depending on workload.                                            

 Our Underdrive Secondary modification gives you over 20% lower gearing on the bottom while retaining all the benefits of the Overdrive Primary, like our primary we increase the travel of the belt on the secondary for 20% lower gearing for rock crawling or larger tires.

 This modification works in conjunction with our Overdrive Primary and KWI weights to give you the widest possible CVT ratios both on the bottom and the top by utilizing 100% of the clutches sheave surface area.

 The Underdrive Secondary must be used with our Overdrive Primary and KWI weights, the KWI weights must be used due to the design of the weight (see picture below, KWI on the far left) which allows the roller to sit lower when the primary is at rest allowing the spider to drop further and open the clutch allowing the belt to drop in the primary which then allows it to rise further in the Secondary giving us the gear reduction, this can be achieved with other weights and different machining processes but not without losing the benefits of our Overdrive Primary.

 If you already have our Overdrive Primary with KWI weights you are all set and only need to purchase the Underdrive Secondary modifications however to ensure the new under drive modification works properly we need to get your Primary back to go through it to ensure it has all the latest revisions to work properly with the Underdrive Secondary, there is no charge for this other than return shipping, If you do not have the KWI Weights we can install the weights and rollers with titanium roller washers for $500 or the complete KR190X Kit which also includes new slider buttons for $650.

 At this time the Underdrive 20% reduction only works with the 4 arm clutches, we are currently testing the 3 arm clutches and will have the option for them soon.

 There is a flat return shipping charge of $45 per clutch which includes $1000 of insurance in case there is any damage in shipping, we package all return clutches very good to prevent any damage but you never know.
